The world is facing a challenging time as the COVID-19 pandemic continues to cause more and more devastating news. This year, families were unable to gather together for Easter celebrations, companies continue to struggle to stay afloat, and those that remain open as essential businesses, including our construction customers, face challenges with keeping their workforce healthy and projects progressing forward as planned.
As a result of COVID-19, essential construction firms must quickly change the way the operate by adopting new processes and adapting technology solutions to minimize virus spread, comply with health and safety regulations, and to stay in business.
Trestles Labor Management System (TLMS®) is a tool that can help contractors overcome these challenges by improving (remote) communication between the field and the office. The app can be used to share daily goals and safety hazards and mitigation measures (including those that account for reducing COVID-19 spread), to eliminate constraints (such as material and drawing requirements), and to share field time, progress, and critical impact information with project teams and management personnel. The application also tracks the percentage of work delayed as a result of COVID-19 and associated impacts.
Recently, we released a new update to TLMS which provides additional opportunities for our customers to improve their "remote" operations.

Capture Employee Attestation
Our latest app release provides a means to collect employee attestation signatures daily. Use this feature to capture signatures from crew members for time worked, lunch period and break compliance, confirmation of their health and safety, or however you see fit. *To comply with health and safety protocols, you may consider placing the signature collection device (phone or tablet) in a particular location at the job site, with disinfectant wipes to be used before and after each signature is collected.
Collect JSA/JHA Signatures from Job Site Guests
TLMS includes a database for safety hazards and mitigation measures. This information is electronically transferred to crew leaders who review the hazards associated with the work that is being performed by their crews daily. Previously, the app provided a means to collect signatures from all crew members. A new feature makes it simple for crew leaders to also collect signatures from guests who may be at job sites and required to participate in toolbox talks/job safety meetings. *To comply with health and safety protocols, you may consider placing the signature collection device (phone or tablet) in a particular location at the job site, with disinfectant wipes to be used before and after each signature is collected.
Simplified Experience for Reviewing Active Constraints
With our latest release, we've made it easier than ever for project and management teams to review all active constraints that need to be removed before the field begins work. We've eliminated the need to drill into specific scope requirements to determine which constraints are still outstanding. Simply review this information (in an online session) with your project teams weekly to ensure crew leaders have everything they need to complete the work efficiently and effectively.
Odds and Ends
In addition to these enhancements, users will notice improved unification in user experience throughout the application.
